The Aramex Kiwi Walk & Run Series is heading to seven locations throughout New Zealand kicking off in March 2021.
 
With a distance for everyone, the Aramex Kiwi Walk & Run Series is a ‘must add’ to your 2021 calendar. Come along for a fun day out, with Kiwi themed experiences, on course ‘pitstops’, and a free Kiwi BBQ at the finish.

COURSE OVERVIEW:
The Millbrook Resort ‘Gully Trail’ starts and finishes at the stunning Millbrook Resort and heads toward Arrowtown and into the trails of Sawpit Gully.
This course offers some of the best scenery in the business, climbing above the Arrow River with views overlooking Lake Hayes and The Remarkables.
The trail includes beech forest and tussock covered slopes and offers two options of course length – a 8.5km and 17.5km (run only).
Caution: Both courses have steep and technical sections.

LOCATION: Church Road Winery, Taradale

 

DISTANCES: 4.5km, 7km, 14km

 

COURSE OVERVIEW:

Starting and finishing at the stunning Church Road Vineyard, this is the ultimate day out. There are three course lengths to choose from including a 4.5km, 7km,  and 14km, route. The course heads out toward Dolbel Reserve with the longer route adding a loop up the reserve to take in all the sights, before heading back to join the shorter course along Maggies Way.  The trail heads to Sugar Loaf Hill before descending down into Church Road Winery.

The 14km course is two laps of the longer course.
Reward yourself at the end with a delicious Church Road Wine and make a day of it!

DISTANCES: 5.5km / 15.5km

 

COURSE OVERVIEW:
This course heads to the Blue Lake (Lake Tikitapu) and includes the FSC Certified Redwoods Forest!
There are two options for trails including a 5.5km loop around the stunning Lake Tikitapu (Blue Lake) or a more adventurous 15.5km trail that heads deep into the Redwoods Forest offering more of a challenge for those avid trail runners or walkers.

LOCATION: Paihia, Bay of Islands

 

DISTANCE: 6km / 17km

 

COURSE OVERVIEW:
Explore the stunning Bay of Islands with this scenic loop showcasing some of the best bits of the region!
Starting and finishing in Paihia, the Full Circle Trail takes you the 17km full circle loop through Opua, Russell and all the way back to Paihia and includes picturesque trials, unbeatable scenery and chance to explore the gems of the Bay of Islands. There is a shorter 6.5km loop for those wanting a shorter distance option.
Ferry crossings are included with your entry, so make a weekend of it and add the Generation Homes ‘Coastal Classic’ to your calendar!

DISTANCES: 4km / 6.5km

 

COURSE OVERVIEW:

Located in the stunning Mahurangi Regional Park 30 minutes north of the Harbour Bridge, this course promises spectacular views and unbeatable scenery.
There are two courses to choose from which include everything from grassy hills, white sandy beaches and ocean views. Mahurangi is one of Auckland’s hidden gems. The course options include a 4km and a 6.5km option.
Caution: The long course has steep and technical sections (i.e. skipping around rocky shorelines). Not appropriate for those not familiar with trail walking/running. The Short course is moderate and friendly.

The TECT park is home to acres of stunning bush trails, and this course offers the opportunity to explore a 4.5km or 9 km trail through native bush and fern lined trails.  As the final event of the series, this offers the perfect day out for friends or families to run or walk these stunning trails.

Frequently Asked Questions – FAQ’s

  • Do I need to check in before the race?

You will need to check in and collect your race wristband when you arrive onsite before the race. The timing for each individual race will be sent in your race notes ahead of the event

  • Are dogs allowed?

Unfortunately, dogs are not allowed at these events

  • Are the events timed?

No, the events are not timed and we recommend bringing your own Garmin or timing device if you wish to record your time

  • If I enter the run category, do I have to run the whole thing?

No, you are welcome to walk at any stage. If you are planning on running / jogging at any point of the event, please enter the running category.

  • Can I bring a pram or pushchair?

This is dependent on each event and will be in the participant manuals.

  • Can I change my distance?

You can change your distance and entry anytime before entries close two days prior to the event or on race morning during the registration

  • Can I wear headphones during the event?

Due to health and safety, it is recommended that you do not wear headphone while taking part in this event

  • Are there prizes for winning / placing?

No there are not prizes for winners / placegetters but a number of spot prizes given away on the day

  • Is there an age limit?

Kids of any age can take part, but kids under 14 years old (18 in Queenstown) must be accompanied by an adult at all times

  • I can’t make the event anymore, can someone race for me?

Race entries are not transferable due to Health and Safety. We need to know who is on course in case of a medical emergency

  • Do I get a finishers medal?

All finishers will receive a medal as they cross the finishing line

  • Is there water on course?

There are limited pit stops, but it is recommended you bring your own water bottle

  • What do I wear?

All entrants must have suitable footwear and clothing for the nature of the event. These details for each event are in the event manuals

  • Are there road closures?

There are no road closures for this event so standard road rules apply

  • Is there a bag drop at the event?

Unfortunately there is no bag drop at these events

In choosing to enter this event, I agree to the following terms and conditions: I also agree that only entries received with prior approval from the event office will be accepted. Any entries received that have not been approved from the event office will be deemed invalid.

 

  • I acknowledge that there are risks involved in this event and accidents can happen which may result in injury. I verify that I am physically capable for an event of this nature. I agree to participate at my own risk.

 

  • I acknowledge that the event organiser reserves the right to accept or decline entries and issue any special invitations in its sole and absolute discretion. However, entry numbers are limited, and any entries received after the limits have been reached will not be accepted.

 

  • I Agree that in the event of an event cancellation due to conditions beyond the control of the organisers including but not limited to a storm, rain, inclement seasonal weather, winds, “Acts of God”, “Acts of Terrorism”, infectious disease pandemic, or other conditions, my entry fee shall be non- refundable.

 

  • I acknowledge that it may become necessary or desirable to change the format of the event due to circumstances beyond the control of the organisers. In the event of a change to the format of the event (including, but not limited to, a virtual event) I agree to the changes and that all of the terms and conditions set out herein shall apply to the changed event.

 

  • I agree to comply with all the Event rules, regulations, and instructions in respect of this event and as notified to me in the entry information or otherwise by the event organisers and officials.

 

  • I agree to pay such fees as the organiser may charge for this event. I accept that these fees are non-refundable and non- transferable in any circumstances. The organisers may, however, at their sole discretion grant a refund of fees paid if they deem it appropriate prior to 60 days out from the scheduled event date. A $10 administration fee will be retained. There are no refunds in any circumstances in the 60 days prior to the scheduled event date.

 

  • Entry fees are non-transferable to other people, other events, or other years. The organisers may, at their discretion, grant a transfer to another person or to the following year based on individual circumstances. Any transfer requests must be received prior to 30 days out from each scheduled event. No transfers will be accepted

 

  • I accept that the information gathered from this event (including my entry form details) will be used to administer the event and may be used to promote and market future events.I understand that my details may be passed onto third parties (i.e. sponsors) for promotional purposes relating to the event.  I give permission for the use of my picture for any promotional material for this event or future events. I understand that information about my registration may be made available on the event website and elsewhere if the event organiser allows it.

 

  • I (for myself and, where applicable, on behalf of my legal guardian, successors, executors and trustees) release and hold harmless the event owners, organisers, directors, officials, sponsors, promoters, suppliers, local authorities, volunteers and all other persons associated with the event (“the organisers”) from any and all liability, claims, actions and causes of action whatsoever arising out of or relating to any loss, damage, or injury that may be sustained by me in connection with my entry and/or participation in this event.   • The organisers may make use of SMS text messages to inform competitors of any event updates or provide information pertinent to competitors. Any messages received shall be free for the recipient. I hereby agree to receive text messages from the event organisers pertaining to this event.

 

  • I acknowledge that to enter this event as an individual the following minimum age restrictions apply:
    • Participants aged under 14 years old must be accompanied by an adult for the entire duration of the event and the accompanying adult takes full responsibility for the safety of the entrant 14 years or under. Participants over the age of 14 can complete the event without an adult accompanying them.Maximum of 2 children per adult.

 

  • MINORS (being persons under the age of 14 years on event day or at time of entry): Where any entrant is a minor, that entrant’s entry form must be completed by a guardian who must also accept these terms and conditions on behalf of the entrant.

  • Covid-19: As an event we are following the Event Sector Voluntary Code and should the Ministry of Health and/or the District Health Board request participant details for contact tracing purposes we will supply this to them. This will include your name, contact phone number, and contact email. This information will only be supplied to the Ministry of Health should it be requested within 4 weeks of the event.
